Programming and Academic Guidance
Some of our families already have curriculum and books they are using. In this case we ask for samples of the courses and samples of the child's work and review this to ensure it aligns with the California Ranch School curriculum and state of California requirements.
2. Academic guidance from our Master Teachers: During the year our Master Teachers, highly trained in successful study methods, are available to answer your questions and guide you on the program. If you, as the teacher, see a need to change a program step we will work with you to ensure it meets the curriculum requirements and the needs of your child. You will receive subject updates to your MasterGuidance Academic Program as needed.
As the homeschooling parent you administer and grade your child’s tests and schoolwork. When you complete a program step send us the results of the graded test or a sample that demonstrates your child’s competence. This may be mailed or faxed at the time of completion or included on your monthly attendance progress report. We need the data to ensure we maintain accurate records and accurately update your child's file.
Graduation Preparation
We encourage students in 11th and 12th grade who are registered in our homeschooling program and wish to earn a high school diploma to sign up for this service. Preparation for a diploma requires compiling high school academic records of the student (for some students this includes reviewing transfer credits to our high school program), grading high school competency exams and term papers, determining grade point averages (GPA), and preparing an official high school transcript. Each student is required to take an exam in various subjects to ensure he or she is fully a product of our HomeGrad of America program. Exams are to be sent in for grading and certification. Once all the requirements are met the student will be issued a high school diploma by California Ranch School.
The fee for this service is $375.00 per student and is separate from the start-up registration fee and monthly service and record keeping charge.
University Preparatory Program
If you are interested in your child attending college, it is recommended that your child start preparatory steps in 9th grade. Your Master Teacher can advise you on this.
Work Study Program
Our program works very well for high school students holding jobs. Students may be able to get credit for work related studies and experience, as approved by our Master Teacher. Students may arrange their own schedule as long as they make adequate progress on their studies and follow the legal requirements.
Summer and Short Term School Programs
Homeschoolers are eligible to enroll in our on-campus year-round school program to boost their at-home studies. Homeschool juniors and seniors will receive extra help on finals and advanced studies from the Master Teacher and assistants. Homeschooling students of all ages who have attended our private school campus make new friends and find it easy to join in the fun and academic activities. Please contact us for more information on tuition, boarding fees and scheduling.
